You will design and carry out experimental programs in order to develop urethane system products (Rigid foam, flexible foam and compact materials) that meet customer performance requirements and process, their scale-up to pilot and production scales, and subsequent market introduction. You will maintain high safety standards and work efficiently and effectively through the use of digital tools.

To do this effectively, you will draw upon considerable expertise in polymer science and engineering, chemistry, production technologies, formulation science, analytics and characterization related to research topics.

Your communication skills will be essential in ensuring that strong supporting linkages are built among Customers, Research, Development, Production, Technical Service, Business Partners and the corresponding global counterparts. With the diversity of projects and tasks, you must occasionally adapt to rapidly changing assignment priorities.

We are searching for a professional like you to play a key role in the planning design and execution of research and development activities and experiments to accomplish project objectives. You will be relied on to provide knowledge and expertise in achieving research targets, interpreting results, and reporting them to key stakeholders.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in polymer chemistry or materials science and your related experience (preferably in polyurethane product development), you will develop products that meet customers’ performance requirements and process.

  • Utilizing your ability to plan and execute complex projects and evaluate results in a business relevant context, you will coordinate and support research and product development topics across the world and work efficiently in a cross-cultural team.

  • Identifying, executing and presenting research and product development projects with self-motivation, ambition and a "can do" attitude, you will follow the global scientific and market trends closely and develop new ideas and project proposals for developing new products to secure the competitiveness of BASF.

  • Your ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and your excellent rapport building skills will serve you well as you engage in intensive collaboration with internal partners of Research and Development, Technical Service, Marketing, Product Management, as well as our global technical teams.
