Senior E-Mobility Application Development Engineer (2102069)– Wyandotte, MI or Remote

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing individual like you with entrepreneurial drive and the ability to communicate effectively join our team to manage E-Mobility technical activities with key customers and to achieve significant market growth in collaboration with Sales and Marketing for Performance Materials in North America. It is anticipated that you will travel as needed up to 40% of the time to customers.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Plastics Engineering, you will successfully co-develop with customers new electrical, electronic and e-mobility (E&E) applications using the BASF Performance Materials engineering plastics, polyurethane and composites product portfolio.

  • Automotive OEM or supplier design and release and/or application validation testing experience in E&E hardware including power electronics, inverters, converters, charging stations, battery electric, hybrid electric vehicle systems battery electric vehicles (BEV) or fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) vehicles.

  • Provide solutions to electronics issues including electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, NVH (noise, vibration & harshness), electromagnetic interference (EMI), RF communications, etc.

  • Technical understanding to identify and support new material product development, develop material and product test plans. Work closely with technicians or outside lab resources to implement testing activities.

  • Participate in technical panels authoring new regulatory standards (SAE and UL), present at conferences and webinars, train customers and colleagues about material properties important in e-mobility and electrical infrastructure components.

  • Being a highly motivated, self-directed individual with an entrepreneur drive you will develop customer relationships and pursue E&E market growth opportunities with your commercial team members.

  • Understanding the customer value proposition of BASF materials, you will communicate this effectively with customers. Your proven communication skills will be essential as you establish and grow relationships with customers to influence and provide ‘best in class’ value added technical expertise.

  • Your commitment to customer service excellence will be evident as you take ownership of the customer to advocate internally, solve complex issues and represent the voice of the customer with a sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrating your highly effective project management skills, you will take a leadership role in organizing technical resources and collaborating with partners and stakeholdersto deliver timely, value added, differentiated results to customers.
