Value Engineer (1801060) – Wyandotte, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a Value Engineer at our Wyandotte, MI facility to serve as an interface between Sales & Engineering and Procurement regarding purchased and tolled components. This includes guiding Sales & Engineering colleagues regarding design, material, and process selection for all purchased components. This position also requires one to collaborate with Procurement to provide cost estimation, technical expertise (in component design, production technologies, and metal and/or plastic processing), and guidance for all supplier negotiations to achieve the lowest cost and best value targets. He/she will manage the portfolio of all purchased components while reducing complexity whenever possible.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Leveraging your educational background in an engineering discipline preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related as well as your extensive experience with injection molding, blow molding, stamping, casting, and machining, you will become the subject matter expert on materials processing within our Cellasto plant.

  • Your solid understanding of cost analysis or cost engineering with one or more production technologies will allow you to analyze the cost of our suppliers and make recommendations.

  • Your working knowledge of various kinds of materials such as thermoplastic elastomers, engineering plastics, and/or metals will allow you to provide guidance to our commercial team and customers from a technical standpoint.

  • Your experience through project assignment or job function with basic commercial skills will allow you to prepare and evaluate quotation proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and conduct market analysis.

  • Your strong EHS orientation and emphasis in both personnel and process safety will allow you to help reduce recordable incidents in the plant.
